Job Summary

Join the Company’s editorial team, which is responsible for creating and maintaining quality content for MarketBeat.com. Contribute to the team’s performance by assisting the Managing Editor with all facets of content development, including strategy, writing, optimization, publishing, and promotion. For this position, you should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with a team of individuals who are remote across several time zones. The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of investing and the stock market, but this is not a requirement. 

Responsibilities

• Assist with the strategy and execution of content that reflects the voice, tone, and goals of MarketBeat-branded websites. 
• Edit and publish website content.
• Review submitted articles and content for:
  • Basic content and formatting (e.g., spelling, grammar, clarity, accuracy, etc.).
  • Best practice search engine optimization (SEO) guidelines
  • Compliance with legal requirements, such as copyright laws
• Determine future article ideas by conducting topic and keyword research and monitoring industry news and trends. 
• Work closely with Managing Editor to define short- and long-term content goals and strategy, and establish operating procedures and other best practices.
• Provide day-to-day direction to freelance writers through content assignments and feedback.
